Superior design and performance
The Glockemann 320 is a gravity fed water powered pressure pump, using the inflow of water to produce energy that drives the pump without requiring any other power sources such as electricity or diesel.
Being a self-powered water pump it requires water to be flowing down the ‘drive pipe’ to power the pump so that it can pump water up the delivery pipe under high pressure. It will function where there is a fall in the stream, from as low as 60 centimeters up to 1.8 metres in height, and a stream flow of at least four litres per second. If necessary you can create this with a dam or weir. It is an efficient high lift pump, using hydraulic ram pump action to converts the energy of the in-flowing water to push water to as much as 200 metres uphill to a collection tank. It can also pump water for several kilometres across land, and two or more pumps can be linked for greater output.

Versatile and flexible
The pump is 50 cm long, 40 cm wide, 53 cm high and weighs 52 kgs when fully assembled.
It can be positioned virtually anywhere in or near a stream by using 100mm or 150mm PVC Drive Tubes with PVC elbows (rather than long straight metal drive tubes) to capture energy from the stream to drive the pump. The pump does not need to be concreted into position, and can be easily shifted if the stream flow alters.
The ram pump has an easily interchangeable piston bore that allows the user to select the correct pumping force for the site i.e. a small ‘bore’ for high delivery heads, a large ‘bore’ for low delivery heads. The Glockemann 320 pump can accommodate seven bore sizes, allowing a specific pumping solution to be designed as needed. Many other hydraulic ram pumps in a sense (i.e. they don’t have bores) only offer one bore size. Excess water can be directed to other uses. The pump can also be ‘throttled’ back to pump less or no water.
If you require extra water you can simply add pumps to your delivery line. For example, if your pump is installed with a drop in the 150 mm drive tube of 1.2 metres and a pumping head of 75 metres to the water tank, you will receive approximately 4,500 litres per day. If you require more than this all you have to do is install an extra pump or two. For example, three pumps will give you 13,500 litres a day.
Strong, durable and reliable
The pump is manufactured from cast iron with high grade stainless steel bores, springs and fittings, and its few moving parts are all mounted on long lasting, hard wearing rubber. The result is no metal to metal action at all, almost no wear, and minimal need for maintenance. Under normal circumstances it will only be necessary to replace the leather piston cup (a 10 minute job) every one to two years and the diaphragm every three to five years, depending on the operating conditions.
Although a hydraulic ram pump, the Glockemann 320 is whisper quiet without the banging or loud mechanical noises of many water hammer pumps. Stand alongside, listen carefully, and all you will hear is the soft swish of water being expelled from the pump as the Glockemann works away steadily for you.
Affordable and cost-effective
The water powered pump uses solely the energy of the water running in the stream to deliver water continuously, with no running costs and only periodic cup and diaphragm replacement.
With an average annual cost of only AUD$230 over the first ten years for a new pump and the replacement parts, the pump is a smart investment. After ten years the average cost per year averages only AUD$25, being routine parts replacement. (Estimates assume normal operating conditions and 2017 retail prices and exclude freight and postage). Any refurbishment such as repainting would be simple and low-cost too.
